Testimonial
“I’ve stayed at Nativa for most of 6 months now, and I could not recommend Nativa and the family and staff that run it more. The hotel is comfortable and clean, and the rooms are spacious. Monica, and the stuff are incredibly hospitable and resourceful. There isn’t a question about Iquitos she doesn’t know the answer to (or at least she’ll know someone who does). The hotel is a family-run business, and I consider the staff my Peruvian family (for example, I cooked Thanksgiving meal for them, and Monica’s mom is always concerned whether I’m eating enough). Monica has been nice enough to let me use their kitchen to cook breakfast and dinner most days. So if you plan to come to Iquitos for a few days or a few months, without a question stay at Nativa!
Also, I work for an NGO here and get a discounted rate, so if you’re a student or someone like me, reach out! Monica has helped out with local connections and resources for our NGO.”
Paul Holden“Nativa Apartments is, beyond doubt, the accommodation of my choice. I have been coming to stay here for various charitable projects for the last year, and the level of service and comfort at Nativa is impeccable. The rooms are clean, the water is hot, there is aircon and wifi. A unique feature of the accommodation is that there is a small kitchenette so that I can store food and cater for myself. Finally, the best thing is that I feel as if Monica and her staff are like my family – I can absolutely trust their advice and service!”
Geordan“Nativa is my home away from home when I’m in Iquitos. Nativa provides high level rooms that are always exquisitely clean as the staff takes great care to ensure the room is cleaned thoroughly on a daily basis. The space is large, has a TV and mini fridge, and the bed is very comfortable. The best part of Nativa is the staff. Over my many visits the owner, Monica (who speaks English fluently), and the staff have become family to me. If you are traveling to Iquitos and need a place to stay for 1 night or 1 month, there is no question where you should stay.”
Igor Shumskiy, MD“The Nativa is my second home in Iquitos and I cannot recommend it highly enough. The rooms are spacious, meticulously cleaned and complete with mini fridges. I’ve stayed in many hostels and hotels in the Iquitos area and nowhere feels as clean and comfortable as the Nativa. There is truly no better feeling than a hot shower, clean sheets and air conditioning after weeks in the jungle. The real reason I keep coming back to the Nativa is the staff. Everyone is so friendly and trustworthy. The owner, Monica, speaks fantastic English and can provide so much insight into the area—markets, restaurants, jungle tours, ayahuasca excursions… the list is endless. If you want to stay in the comforts of air conditioning and hot showers, but eat and sightsee like a local the Nativa is the place for you.”
Shelby Kemper“Nativa Apartments is a great place to stay in Iquitos. Monica and her family runs the place. She speaks excellent English and is extremely helpful. The size of the rooms and common areas are really unusual for the places I’ve stayed at while in Peru. The location itself is about 7 minutes walk from the Boulevard and the historic area, and it’s 5 minutes to the Plaza de Armas. There are no buses or heavy moto-cars, making it pretty quiet. Extremely clean and well-serviced, I felt immediately at home and found it hard to leave! I know most of the other places at Iquitos, and well, Nativa is the best!”
Anonymous“Thank you for your hospitality during my short stay in Iquitos! It was wonderful to travel to the area and stay at Nativa, and learn a little about the Amazon.”
